The Vancouver International Jazz Festival’s annual finale has become synonymous with the kick off to summer for many Vancouverites.
Festival programmers pack in two days of free music in what they call a festival within a festival.
With three stages set up inside the beautiful Roundhouse Community Centre, and a larger grandstand stage set up in David Lam Park on the water’s edge across from False Creek, there’s no better way for city-dwellers to celebrate the end of the school year and beginning of summer.
Expect lots of activities for the kids, a large artisan market, and food trucks galore.
The music begins at Noon and continues until 10 p.m., and over two days there are 32 concerts and workshops to choose from. Bands include Delhi 2 Dublin, Mammal Hands, Roots Roundup, The 24th Street Wailers, Wil Campa y Su Orquesta, and more.
