Coquitlam Mounties are calling this case a blatant breach of trust.
“This is somebody that she didn’t want to believe was capable of doing it.”
A 91-year-old Coquitlam woman is reeling after finding out her caregiver, 49-year-old Antonette Dizon, is facing charges of theft over $5,000.
Constable Jamie Phillipson with the Coquitlam Mounties says, however, far more than $5,000 was taken from the senior.
“Over the span of a year, this person was making withdrawals from the ATM machine, upwards of a thousand dollars each time. So obviously, we’re looking at a large sum of $270,000.”
Dizon was arrested in May and has been released from custody.
She’ll make her next court appearance on June 27th
