Vancouver Police are still trying to piece together why two elderly women were attacked yesterday afternoon.
Constable Brian Montague says they’re still unsure of a motive.
“There doesn’t appear to be any real motive behind the attacks. I can tell you in at least one of the situations, this individual had an opportunity to take a purse, and did not, so robbery doesn’t appear to be a motive.”
The first attack, on an 84-year-old woman, happened just before noon on West Broadway near Ash.
She broke her elbow after being kicked off the seat of her walker.
Hours later, a 70-year-old woman in a wheel chair suffered minor injuries after she was punched in the face near Broadway and Granville Street.
The same suspect may have committed both offences.
Anyone with information about the two incidents should contact Vancouver Police.
