New tourism numbers in B.C. show an increase in international visitors, especially from France and Mexico.
Over the first three months of 2016, visits from France increased 51.6%.
In a release to CKNW, Minister responsible for Tourism Shirley Bond credits the 45.2% increase in visits from Mexico to a new non-stop, daily flight between Mexico City and Vancouver.

U.S. residents seem to be taking advantage of the loonie, with visits up 20.1% over the first three months of 2015.
Bond says overall, tourism visitation is up 16.8% during the first three months of 2016, with 121,306 more visitors compared to the same period last year.
Tourist numbers from Japan increased 13.3%, while visits from South Koreans went up just over 10%.
There’s been an 8% increase in visitors from China so far in 2016.
