A Vancouver naturopath has been disciplined by the College of Naturopathic Physicians of B.C. after he was implicated in an Al Jazeera documentary on sports doping.
Brandon Spletzer is seen on video talking about how to evade the World Anti-Doping Agency and to deliver drugs not authorized in Canada.
The documentary, which aired in December, is raising questions about doping in sports. It also names a number of high-profile athletes, including Peyton Manning.
Now Spletzer has been handed a ten-day suspension by the College and ordered to take a course on ethics.
It found Spletzer gave a patient two peptides not allowed in Canada, and a third that can’t be prescribed by naturopaths.
The College also says statements could be interpreted as a willingness to engage in disgraceful, dishonourable, or unprofessional conduct.
