For many dog lovers, James Woller has the ultimate dream job. As the Co-Owner of Release the Hounds, Woller says he got to combine his love for dogs, with a business plan.
“Part of it, is it’s therapeutic working with dogs, it’s therapeutic working with people that love dogs.”
Woller says it’s almost very difficult to describe exactly what he does.
“It’s almost like something I would do as a recreational thing – hiking on a weekend and taking my dog for a hike…just add a little bit more stress (dogs) to different components of the job, and you get paid for it!”
But, Woller says some days are extremely hard.
“There’s some hikes that we do…it’s almost bliss. It’s this nirvana feeling to have six dogs, off leash, hiking in the beautiful mountains and forests of Vancouver. But obviously there are other times, where there are only three dogs in the group and it is so stressful.”
