Earlier Saturday Heritage Minister Melanie Joly announced the Ministry is launching public consultation for ‘Canadian Content in a Digital World.’
In a release, they say the Federal government is looking to the public for input on how to strengthen the creation, discovery and export of Canadian content.
In an interview with the Globe and Mail, Joly says everything is on the table.
She adds she’s willing to make changes to the Broadcasting Act, and modify the mandates of the CRTC.
A pre-consultation questionnaire can be done on Heritage Canada’s website, with the next phase arriving this summer.
