Vancouver Fire and Rescue responded to a call earlier Friday night to a second alarm commercial fire in the 7900 block of Granville Street.
Crews were called at about 7:30 for a fire on the second floor of a building.
Assistant Chief Frank Dodich says it actually started in an apartment above two businesses.
“The fire started in the contents of one of the suites, and spread to the structure.”
“Nobody was injured, and there’s one lone occupant that’s been displaced. He’s been turned over to emergency Social Services for temporary housing.”
It will be up to BC Hydro to decide when power will be restored to the businesses below the apartment.
