Vancouver City Council is set to review and possibly approve a plan to turn the 800-block of Robson Street between Howe and Hornby streets a permanent public plaza.
If approved, the block will be closed to all motor vehicles, including buses.
According to the city, the block was originally closed to vehicles when the area was originally designed 40 years ago.
This comes at the same time as the redevelopment of the Vancouver Art Gallery North Plaza is about to begin, with the first phase of construction beginning next week.
