The Vancouver Canucks ended their storied season scraping past the Edmonton Oilers with a victory.
Fans didn’t have to wait too long for the Canucks to get onto the board, with Derek Dorsett putting up the first goal of the game about 10 minutes in.
Vancouver lead through the end of the first period, it wasn’t until just over 6 minutes in the 2nd when Edmonton’s Darnell Nurse put the Oilers on the board.
Emerson Etem pulled Vancouver ahead early in the 3rd with another goal, with Edmonton’s Ryan Nugent-Hopkins evening the score a few minutes later.
With less than 5 to go, Jannik Hansen inched Vancouver ahead to 3-2, but Edmonton’s Patrick Maroon managed to put one last puck into the net on a Power Play to send the game into overtime 3-3.
After a scoreless overtime, Vancouver eventually managed to squeak out a shoot-out victory, ending their season with a 4-3 win.
They sit 28th in the NHL.
