A man who claims to be a former agent of the RCMP has launched a lawsuit in B.C. Supreme Court against the force, claiming he wasn’t paid for his “clandestine” services.
The man, only identified as Agent E, claims he was involved in national security, money laundering and drug trafficking investigations, gathering evidence on around 40 targets between 2001 and 2014.
He also claims to have brokered transactions involving the importing and exporting of illegal drugs, and organizing meetings between smugglers and traffickers and relaying details back to the RCMP.
The suit alleges he was promised a “single balloon” payment that never came.
He says only his expenses were reimbursed.
The agent is suing for damages, as well as an order lifting international travel restrictions placed on him.
None of the allegations has been proven in court.
