A Nanaimo man has died after an industrial accident at the Harmac pulp mill.
“We attended and confirmed a man in his mid-30s had died as a result of some of the work that was being conducted.”
Sergeant Cam Muir with Nanaimo RCMP says the man had apparently fallen while working around a wood chip pile.
“We were at the scene for about six and a half hours working with the BC Coroner’s Service and WorkSafeBC. At this time there doesn’t appear to be anything criminal in this investigation.”
Muir says WorkSafeBC and the BC Coroner’s Service have taken over the case.
