A senior executive has resigned from his post with construction giant Ledcor after a BC Supreme Court dismissed his defamation suit against a Cactus Club and its staff.
The judge had found Dwight Brissette had inappropriately touched a female server and called her “Kitty Kat” several times after a night of wining and dining at the Coal Harbour location in June 2013.
The allegations from restaurant staff were relayed to members at Brissette’s table that night, which included other executives of Ledcor and prompted his notice of civil claim.
A spokesperson for Ledcor says Brissette resigned after reviewing the employee code of conduct with the company.
Brissette still plans on launching an appeal against the BC Supreme Court’s decision.
