The man who found a dog shot and left for dead in a Shuswap parking lot this weekend is breaking his silence.
Stephen Moore with the Crowfoot Mountain Snowmobile Association spotted it, and having already lost a friend in an avalanche earlier this month admits the sight left him distraught.
“Coming into work in the morning, and finding that… I love dogs. I’m a pitbull advocate. And to find that in the parking lot was very, very … I’ve had a million feelings going through me at the time.”
Yesterday, Jay Foster posted the images of the dog to Facebook, along with a single shotgun shell found at the scene.
Foster writes the dog was found in the club’s parking lot near the community of Celista.
He adds other than the fatal gunshot wound, the dog looked healthy and had no identifying tattoos.
Foster’s post has already been shared more than 200 times, and has attracted hundreds of shocked and outraged comments.
The SPCA is investigating.
