A 1.5 hectare blaze is burning near Buffalo Creek after it appears it was human-caused.
The wildfire service says the fire isn’t growing rapidly and there are no structures being threatened at this time.
Just two days earlier about two hours away, the Kamloops Fire Centre warned about an early drying trend, urging the public to be cautious with any fire activities.
Last year, the provincial government burned through its $63-million budget to combat wildfires and by the end of the season had spent a staggering $282-million after over 300,000 hectares of land was burned.
