The Vancouver Whitecaps failed to produce again, letting in two first-half goals as Sporting Kansas City beat them 2-1 on Saturday night for their fourth win in a row at home over the Caps.
The match was highlighted by an ill-timed tackle and some Dom Dwyer brilliance.
The Whitecaps went down to 10-men after Jordan Smith was shown a red card for his tackle on K.C.’s Amadou Dia.
Sporting forward Dom Dwyer had two first half goals for Sporting KC.
Pedro Morales scored off a penalty kick in the 70th minute for the Whitecaps (0-2-0).
The Whitecaps will take on Seattle, also 0-2 to start this season, is their first Cascadia derby of the season next Saturday, March 19th.
