Avalanche Canada has issued a warning for people heading into the back country this weekend.
Both the North Shore and the Sea-to-Sky areas have moderate avalanche warnings in place due to a series of storms this week.
Forecaster Ilya Storm urges people to be careful.
“Select your terrain in ways so that you’re avoiding large alpine slopes, big chunks of terrain, and to remain disciplined on staying on less steep terrain.”
Storm says the sunshine this weekend will increase the instability of the snowpack, potentially creating large and dangerous avalanches.
The warning also includes the interior of B.C., places like Valemount, Blue River, and Revelstoke Golden.
