It looks like the MSP changes in yesterday’s budget are just the beginning.
“We landed at the best answer we thought we could at this point. There is more to do though and you will see more in the next budget.”
Leading up to the budget Premier Christy Clark called the MSP antiquated and described the way it is collected as not making a tonne of sense
Today she added to that when asked why a lot of people will pay more not less.
“Well ten dollars a month its ten dollars a month but I will say this the system for MSP has grown up over a lot of years and it hasn’t grown up into a system that is entirely fair or that is even logical.”
Clark says the changes exempting children and enhancing premium assistance means 40-percent of the population no longer pays MSP.
