Big wins tonight for two candidates considered to be outsiders by many.
Donald Trump and Bernie Sanders are both being projected as the winners of today’s New Hampshire primary.
Early results in the GOP primary have Donald Trump leading with 34.5% of the vote, more than double his nearest rival, John Kasich. It’s Trump’s first win after he fell to Ted Cruz in the Iowa Caucus.
In the Democratic race, Bernie Sanders leads Hilary Clinton with 58.1% to her 39.6%.
Sanders had been widely expected to win the contest (noted election forecast site FiveThrityEight had projected a 99% chance of a Sanders win).
However, the magnitude of the victory is good news for Sanders, and may provide him crucial momentum heading into Nevada and South Carolina later this month.
