A cyclist who was involved in a collision with a semi-truck yesterday (Friday) afternoon in New Westminster has died.
Acting Sergeant Jeff Scott with New West Police says because it happened around 3:25pm and in the busy area of Brunette Avenue and Sherbrooke Street, there should be people who saw the fatal crash.
“If anybody was driving in the area of Brunette and Sherbrooke or if people were pedestrians or cyclists as well in the area, we would greatly appreciate speaking with them. It’s a highly used roadway with a lot of vehicle traffic, pedestrians, and sidewalks. We would hope and expect there’s some witnesses who are willing to come forward and speak with us.”
Police aren’t yet releasing the victim’s identity, but have said it was a man residing in Vancouver who was born outside the province.
