A GoFundMe page has been set up for the 40-year-old Surrey snowboarder who died near Cypress Mountain last weekend.
He left behind a widow and 10-month-old baby daughter.
“I knew that his final moment was probably thinking about her and what her future is going to be like without him in it.”
Neptali De Rama only knew his daughter Emily for ten months, but friends who are now crowdfunding for him say he talked about being a father for years.
“He often talked about his future baby daughter. Going way back, he always talked about, “When I have my daughter…” and it was his real pride and joy. He was so happy when he had her.”
Daniel Blodgett had been friends with De Rama in Ontario, and so too, was Dennis Garcia.
“He was very proud of her. He would show it on Facebook and post it on his Instagram… What any proud parent would do when he has a child.”
As of Friday morning, the online campaign has raised more than $6,000.
