A planned global meeting by a men’s group known for advocating the legalization of rape looks to have been called off.
Group founder Daryush Valizadeh, known to his followers as “Roosh V,” cancelled the event on his website this evening, writing that he “could not guarantee the safety or privacy of the men who want to attend.”
However – another post written earlier today, detailing plans for secret meetings, remains live on Valizadeh’s personal blog.
Valizadeh has subsequently claimed the rape blog was written as “satire.”
I’ll state once again: the “How To Stop Rape” article was satire. Neither me or my supporters want rape to be legalized. The media is lying.

Earlier this year, a planned visit to Canada by the U.S. blogger prompted a petition to ban him from the country, which attracted nearly 50,000 signatures.
Word of the meetings, originally planned for this Saturday, sparked outrage around the world, prompting planned protests in a number of cities.
It also drew condemnations from civic leaders across Canada, including the Mayors of Vancouver and Surrey.
