With just over a week before voters in two Metro Vancouver ridings hit polling stations, the B.C. NDP is targeting Premier Christy Clark in a new campaign video.
It is a different strategy than the one taken by former leader Adrian Dix during 2013’s failed bid to form government, where he promised to be positive.
This weekend, the New Democrats released a campaign video that takes direct aim at the premier and BC Liberal scandals, with the party hoping it resonates with voters on Feb. 2.
Vancouver-Mount Pleasant is considered a safe NDP riding with a strong candidate — Melanie Mark taking on Gavin Dew from the B.C. Liberals.
But in Coquitlam-Burke Mountain it’s a closer race.
The Liberals’ Joan Isaacs is hoping to keep the seat in her party’s hands, while Jodie Wickens will try to grab it for the Opposition.
A slight advantage may go to Wickens, though. Byelections do tend to be easier wins for the Opposition.
