Local residents, First Nations representatives and environmental groups will rally outside the National Energy Board hearings today against Kinder Morgan’s pipeline project.
Campaign organizer Sven Biggs says they will hold Prime Minister Justin Trudeau accountable on his campaign promise.
“He made a promise during the campaign that these kinds of reviews would not go forward, and we are going to hold him to that promise.”
He says events like this help the community work together.
“People here are very concerned about this project, but they know that working together we can stop it.”
He says about a thousand people are expected to show.
