Premier Christy Clark is hinting there might be changes coming to Medical Services Plan premiums, amid calls to abolish them.
Clark says the payments are there to remind the public healthcare isn’t free, but she said she would be receptive to changes, without revealing any specifics.
“You will see more details on a whole range of issues as we get closer to the budget but I will leave it at that for the moment.”
The budget comes out next month.
“We want to find a way to make MSP work for everybody.”
A recent petition online has gathered more than 60,000 signatures to tie the premiums to income, rather than have a flat rate.
