TransLink officials say they are working to resolve several issues for disabled people using the new Compass Card system.
A transit user needs to be able to use their hands, of course, to tap in and out of the system and open the new fare gates at SkyTrain stations.
But not everyone has that ability.
TransLink’s Merrilee Ashworth says staff are speaking with stakeholders to find a solution.
“Part of working towards that solution (is) for people who have very limited local motor skills and the ability to hold a card or tap a card.”
Ashworth says the disability fare gate at stations will stay open until TransLink finds a solution to the problem.
