UBC has hired a labour expert to conduct a review into the university’s response to concerns of sexual assault filed by current and former students.
Paula Butler with Butler Workplace Solutions specializes in labour and employment law, and is tasked with carrying out the review.
Administration came under fire last month when a series of past and present students blasted UBC for failing to act decisively when they approached the university about possible sexual assault incidents involving a student.
That student was expelled a year and a half after the complaints were made.
The report is expected to be complete and available in February.
