Friends and family of Dario Bartoli gathered at a South Surrey skateboard park tonight to mark the one year anniversary of the 15-year-old’s death.
Dozens of people turned out to light balloon-like floating lanterns in memory of the slain teen.
Bartoli was died after a violent confrontation last December . It happened while he was walking home with his 14-year-old friend near 156 street and 18 Ave.
Homicide investigators took over the case and say they believe Bartoli and another teen were attacked by 4-5 other youth unknown to them.
In the year since there have been no arrests.
The skate park was a popular hang out for Bartoli, an avid skateboarder and BMX rider.
Last fall, supporters organized a memorial skateboard and BMX jam in Bartoli’s name, in an effort to raise money for youth programs in the community.
