“Well they took sunglasses, and what else, gums, little things, yeah and the phone charger.”
That, from a resident of Dominion street in Burnaby, where multiple cars had their windows smashed overnight.
“I heard a guy coming from there, and he’s also got broken windows, and he says there’s something like 20 cars”
The incident has the Burnaby RCMP warning residents to be extra careful, with smash and grab theft particularly common during this time of year as people do their holiday shopping.
Police advise keeping all valuables – including sunglasses, coins and electronics – hidden out of sight.
In most cases, officers say the damage to the vehicle far outweighs the value of anything taken.
