Environment Canada has issued a wind warning for Metro Vancouver.
Strong winds up to 70 kilometres per hour are expected to hit the Lower Mainland on Saturday morning.
BC Hydro spokesperson Mora Scott says in light of the mass outages last weekend, crews are tracking the storm system very closely.
“We have BC Hydro crews and contractor crews available so that we can restore service as quickly and safely as possible if the lights do go out.”
Scott encourages people to be prepared and, if necessary, stay away from power lines on the ground.
“A down line is considered an emergency situation and they should stay at least 10 metres back and call 911 immediately.”
Hydro customers are reminded to have a flashlight, batteries and other emergency items available.
