The BC Green Party has its first full-time leader since Jane Sterk stepped down after the 2013 provincial election.
Andrew Weaver, the party’s lone MLA, has officially been named the new chief.
Weaver is a climate scientist and professor at the University of Victoria.
He was first elected in 2013, knocking off BC Liberal incumbent Ida Chong in the riding of Oak Bay-Gordon Head.
Weaver was acclaimed by the party.
