There’s no rest for the weary in terms of wet weather in Metro Vancouver.
Another storm system will touch down Monday night.
Wind gusts which knocked out power to thousands over the weekend will provide an encore, and the rain will persist as well.
Michel Gelinas with Environment Canada says a strong jet stream across B.C. has fueled the recent bout of bad weather.
“It looks like it’s going to continue, probably until this weekend and after that early next week, we may see a break.”
A number of ferry sailings were also cancelled Sunday night at the height of the storm.
Early Monday morning, Environment Canada issued another special weather statement.
High winds and heavy rain are to hit the south coast Tuesday.
BC Hydro line crews continue to reduce the number of customers without electricity, after Sunday’s rain and windstorm.
At the storm’s height, almost 50,000 BC Hydro customers lost their electricity.
