Vancouver Police officers may have saved the lives of two women asleep under a burning pile of shopping carts this morning.
Just before 7 a.m. officers noticed plumes of smoke billowing on Columbia Street near East Hastings.
They found flames rising from a tarp covering the shopping carts, which had personal items inside.
One of the women was also wrapped in a blanket that had caught fire.
Both women were pulled from the fire unharmed.
Police are investigating whether the fire was accidental or intentially set.
