“If you plan to drink when you’re celebrating the season, just don’t drive. It’s that’s simple.”
That’s the message from Vancouver police, RCMP, ICBC, and the province as their annual winter Counter Attack campaign gets underway.
RCMP Staff Sgt. Dale Somerville says holiday-goers have to think ahead.
“Make your plan for a safe ride home before you go out, and stick to it. Because bad choices last forever. You don’t want to be woken by a doorbell in the middle of the night and a uniformed police officer telling you your loved one is dead.”
Officers are planning to be out on the streets in the coming weeks to combat holiday drunk-driving.
