If you’re a homeowner in Vancouver, get ready for a tax hike.
The City of Vancouver has released it’s proposed 2016 operating budget and it includes a property tax increase of 2.3-per cent.
The city says that’s not out of line with the forecast inflation by the Conference Board of Canada.
The hike will go to pay for things like new fire boats, fire trucks, and VPD software, as well as Burrard Street Bridge upgrades, social housing in False Creek, along with a long list of other items.
Council will vote on the budget December 15th.
