“I do think that mindfulness is quite a trendy word, but actually its an age-old preoccupation, which is, ‘how can can you be in the monet and not let all the static of the day, and your mind, and the concerns you have, dominate.”
She says that if she’s doing something that absorbs her enough that she’s focused but it’s not difficult or challenging, such as stirring a pan, it’s a way to relax and let the mind go.
On Instagram and food
“I came late to Instagram, but I do find it inspiring…but sometimes I feel it favours the photogenic over the delicious in terms of food. You know a stew nevers look good really, but the flavours are wonderful. However, it does open my eyes to different sorts of cooking.”
