Nurses protested outside a seniors’ home in Abbotsford Wednesday morning after dozens of nursing staff were let go.
“Yesterday, Menno Place – a component of Fraser Health – fired notices out to 60 nursing staff made up of regular staff and casuals: 15 registered nurses and 45 licensed practical nurses.”
Nurses union president Gayle Duteil says management is sacrificing patient care to save a buck.
She says consistency of care will be out the window, and some of the nurses have worked at Menno Place for decades.
CKNW has asked the company for comment.
