Vancouver’s mayor is calling on the city’s business community to put their names behind the fight against climate change.
It’s called “Vancouver’s Climate Pledge,” and it asks local businesses to publicly support stronger action on climate change.
Gregor Robertson says it’s not just a chance to help reduce carbon emissions but to bolster the city’s economy.
“We’re in a great compitition with other cities to be a hub for the green economy, as the world embraces these changes. So it’s a huge oportunity for us, and for all the businesses involved.
And Some big names like Telus have already signed on.”
Robertson says he hopes to see businesses challenge each other — and support the city’s goal to shift to 100-percent renewable energy.
