B.C.’s Justice Minister and Attorney-General says over 40 new RCMP officers are on the ground in Surrey and more are coming.
“I know that flow of officers is continuing and they will certainly add to the capacity in Surrey but as I say the people there now, the police on the ground now are working very hard to disrupt these networks,” Anton says.
“Everyone is working on this; the mayor is working hard, police, the anti-gang units, the homicide investigation team,” she says.

Surrey says it wants all 130 additional officers pledged to them, a city many say is under-served in terms of police power based on it’s growing crime rate and population.
