What was all the commotion about in North Surrey on Tuesday morning?
For one hour only, between 8:30 and 9:30 a.m., the Shell gas station at 148 Street and 108 Avenue sold gas for just 10 cents a litre.
“I got 42.5 (litres) and it cost $4.25. It’s ridiculous and I love it though. I’m broke and on disability so it really helps.”
That is customer Mark Bogdanoff.
It was promotion for a new gasoline.
The lineup was blocks long and got so bad, the intersection was closed and police were called out.
“Police are here to insure that everybody acts like adults and doesn’t cut in line and just does their fair share of following the rules,”
says RCMP Staff Sgt. Dale Carr.
Shell was set to hold the deal again later in the morning, at another location.
