After a week of concert cancellations, a bankrupt company and fears that it just wasn’t going to happen, Bon Jovi and the Kings of Suburbia will be performing at Rogers Arena tonight.
Bon Jovi says when he heard his concert at Stanley Park had been cancelled, he knew he had to make it up to his fans.
“Of course I was disappointed the initial reaction was, how do we rectify it…we’ve got to give everybody their money back. Then we found out that wasn’t going to work…and we said oh really, so now we are going to have to make this work.”
Vancouver holds a special place in Bon Jovi’s heart, and he says he couldn’t miss out on a show here.
“We recorded three albums here, so from ’86 to ’92 this was absolutely home for the band. And really the comming to fruition.”
The concert tonight will be held for those who previously purchased tickets to the Stanley Park show, which was cancelled when the promoters filed for bankruptcy.
