Good news from crews battling wildfires–containment is up on three big fires on the south coast.
The Wood Lake fire near Harrison Lake is now 60 per cent contained, and while it’s still believed to be more than 13-hundred hectares, crews have been able to get a better handle on the south flanks of the fire–the area nearest Harrison Hot Springs.
The roughly 6,300 hectare, Boulder Creek fire is now 75 per cent contained. Crews have been battling that one June 30.
And the massive Elaho fire, burning since June 14 is 60 per cent contained, but is still roughly 12,899 hectares.
However, with hotter, dryer weather in the forecast, fire officials warn we could see an increase in activity over the next few days.
