Charges have been stayed against a man accused of lighting a stranger on fire.
The trial for Robertson de Chazal on aggravated assault began on Tuesday.
But after hearing from a number of witnesses, the Crown concluded it was no longer possible to prove their case.
De Chazal was alleged to have set on a fire a Filipino man who’d been asleep on a couch on Commercial Drive in 2009.
The accused is believed to be part of a white supremacist group.
