It’s quite an evening in the Lower Mainland if you are into sports of the physical variety.
The Lions and Argonauts tangle at BC Place which would be really cool if the hole on the top was left open. Most of the seats are covered and with that new turf, although watered regularly, the faux grass would have been a slick sheet. Alas, they will be playing in perfect conditions.
At Swangard, there is International rugby as Canada tangles with Tonga in a Pacific Nations Cup clash.
That might be the more entertaining of the two choices.
The Tongans are ranked 13th on the planet while the Canucks are now 18th in the world. Both countries will be in England for the Rugby World Cup in 55 days.
If the precipitation continues the two sides not wearing pads could turn into dirty mudders lickety split on the natural turf of Central Park.
Don’t forget the Gore-Tex, don’t walk under covered areas with an umbrella and take your time getting around tonight.
