The Chief Communications Officer for BC Hydro has released a statement about the police-involved shooting that happened in Dawson Creek on Thursday night.
Steve Vanagas says none of the company’s workers were injured during the shooting.
The staff who were attending the information session that night were moved to a safe location.
Vanagas says the company is still waiting for more information, and is not willing to speculate.
One man was shot and killed by RCMP during a Site C open house in Dawson Creek, even though officials say they tried to calm the man down.
BC’s police watchdog – the Independent Investigations Office – is looking into the events of that night.
The mayor – Dale Bumstead – called the event “shocking” and “hurtful” for the community.
