The stage is almost set for the final court showdown between the BC Teachers Federation and the Provincial Government.
The BCTF has applied to the Supreme Court of Canada to hear its case.
The Provincial Government has until the end of August to respond.
In April the BC Court of Appeal overturned two decisions in favour of the union.
The Appeal court judges ruled the province was acting in good faith and was within its rights when it stripped teachers of the right to bargain class size and composition.
The Supreme Court of Canada decides what cases it will hear.
Canada’s top court is the end of the road in a legal battle between the teacher’s and the province dating back to 2002.
