The name of a man killed in a weekend boating incident off Vancouver Island has now been released.
Michael David Douglas was 39 years old and from Langford.
He died Saturday in Sproat Lake near Port Alberni.
Investigators say the boat’s engine suddenly cut out before lifting into the air and crashing back into the water.
Another man sufered serious injuries and is recovering in hospital.
Members of the RCMP dive team recovered Douglas’s body.
An autopsy will determine if he drowned or if injuries he suffered in the crash killed him.
