Dozens of Surrey mobile home owners who could be forced to move if an “Innovation Boulevard” development gets approved are taking their fight to the steps of City Hall.
Park Mobile” resident Chris Bublitz, who is legally blind, has lived in the park at 9525 King George Boulevard for 15 years and is concerned about her guide dogs if she is evicted
“I’ve got everything here, so if I end up moving into the Fraser Valley I lose everything.”
But West Stone Vice-President Robert Dominick says the company is already in the process of purchasing 11 of the mobile homes, and will continue to do so, or help residents re-locate.
“I understand completely the tenants concerns, and on the other side of the coin I understand the benefits to the City of Surrey. As I say, it is a tight rope, and we are walking on it.”
The $250-million project includes a senior’s facility and medical services near the hospital.
Residents held a rally Monday night at Surrey City Hall.
The project has yet to go to the public hearing stage.
