The RCMP’s national Ottawa headquarters is wading into the debate about 20 new Mounties that are missing in action in Surrey despite the Public Safety minister saying they are “on the ground.”
The RCMP National Media Relation office has sent CKNW a statement saying 20 police cadets have been assigned to Surrey.
However in the short statement it does not say if those officers have arrived in the city.
Ottawa headquarters also says the Commanding officer in charge of BC’s Mounties has confirmed a deployment plan for the 100 new RCMP officers promised to Surrey by the Feds.
Yesterday the officer in charge of the Surrey detachment told mayor Linda Hepner no new officers have arrived and he had 703 members, a number that hasn’t changed in months.
Despite direct repeated questions Blaney’s office have refused to provide a clear timeline for the officers to arrive.
