There’s some good news that will affect BC Ferries fares.
In a release, the ferry corporation says for the next go-around of fare increases, they could be going up to a rate lower than the company previously projected.
The quasi-crown corporation says it’s thanks to a strong performance.
The company is reporting both higher revenues and an increase in vehicle and foot passenger traffic.
Taking everything into consideration, combined net earning were $49.1-million for the 2015 fiscal year, which was up from 2014’s $18-million.
While vehicle traffic and passenger traffic showed an increase, it was only at about half a percent for each of those categories.
